Boneyard…
It was Labor Day Weekend and I felt the time off being wasted. I considered a photography trip, but I was scheduled for Sunday morning golf. That golf plan broke the weekend into very limiting options.
My mind was envisioning a minimalist, high key B&W photography project for wall art. I wanted to do this for while but didn’t know what to shoot. My initial thoughts went to Arizona desert scenes. However, I needed something a lot closer, and Florida scenes would be better for a Florida house. I needed to make this happen.
I asked AI for suggestions and it came back with Boneyard Beach. Oh my, it was near Amelia Island just south of the Georgia border. I had never been there before and this was going to be a hike for a Sunday drive.
After much debating in my head to go or not, I took the nap after golf, packed the camera bag and headed out on the 5 hour drive. I arrived too late to enjoy the town, so I just stayed in my hotel room Sunday night.
After breakfast I went to the beach. I ended up spending the entire day at the beach. Two hours of which I sat soaking wet in my car from a storm that passed over. Lookout for the long hike between the beach and the parking when the rain starts.
Needless to say, I look forward to going back for a much extended period of time…
